US-based Premier Aircraft introduced a 50Dash4 performance upgrade for the Falcon 50. Premier Aircraft, LLC, obtained an FAA STC for the 50Dash4 upgrade in January 2007. The upgrade gives the Falcon 50 greater range, payload, shorter time to climb, higher initial cruise altitude and reduced runway requirements from high and hot airports.

The STC provides for the installation of TFE-731-4-1C engines, converted by Honeywell from their original TFE-7313/3D configuration and includes new exhaust nozzles and modifications to the Falcon 50 nacelles and engine instruments.

Important to both European and North America markets, the FAA STC fully meets both FAA FAR Part 36, Stage 4 and EASA ICAO Chapter 4 noise regulations. The certification allows higher hot-high takeoff weights resulting in up to 620 nautical miles additional range, lower noise and carbon emissions, increased payloads ,shorter time to climb, direct to 37000 feet at ISA+10degrees Centigrade ,and shorter runway requirements. Cruise speed increases of 35 KTAS are also verified. Operational benefits include lower engine maintenance costs and longer inspection intervals.

Falcon 2000DX

Dassault likes to emphasize that the Falcon 2000DX offers customers the choice of a wide cabin, 3250 nautical miles range, a larger jet carrying six passengers at Mach 0, 80 while retaining good short field characteristics. It has a wingspan of 19, 33 metres, length 20, 21 metres and height of 7, 06 metres and an MTOW of 18598 kilograms. Power is provided by two Pratt & Whitney PW308Cs of 7000 lb thrust each.

The EASy flight deck avionics suite is the result of close cooperation between Dassault and Honeywell .EASy comprises four 13by 10-inch flat-panels, high-resolution, active matrix liquid crystal displays. Laid out in a “T” configuaration, the design puts the primary display unit (PDU) right in front of each pilot.

The PDU shows critical flight information such as combined attitude director indicator; horizontal situation indicator; airspeed; altitude; vertical speed; engine information and aircraft configuration. A newly certificated enhanced flight vision system (EFVS) is available as an option.

It has a low approach speed of 112 knots and can land wit the fuel tanks nearly full, which allows it to make short hops from city to city to pick up passengers, then continue on long missions without refueling.

Falcon 2000EX/LX

Based on the 3800 nautical miles range Falcon 2000EX, the Falcon 2000LX has a range of 4000 nautical miles at Mach 0,80 and a climb to 38000 feet in just 18 minutes, with an MTOW of 19142 kilograms. New wing aerodynamics reduces drag by as much as 5%.

The mid-light Legacy 450 is being designed to carry up to nine passengers .Its range will be 2300 nautical miles with four passengers, or 2200 nautical miles with eight passengers, both including NBAA IFR fuel reserves.

The midsize Legacy 500 will carry up to nine passengers. It is being designed for a range of 3000 nautical miles with 4 passengers, or 2800 nautical miles with eight passengers, both including NBAA IFR fuel reserves.

Honeywell was chosen to be the supplier of the audio/video and cabin management system for the new jets.

Last October, Embraer revealed that it had “powered on” the Legacy 450/500 flight controls integrated test facility, known as the Iron Bird. The facility integrates the equipment and components of the fly-by-wire flight controls, avionics, hydraulics and several other system interfaces of the new executive jets.

The Iron Bird has been developed by Embraer, in a partnership with Parker, which supplies the flight control system .It features a fully-equipped cockpit with the actual hardware of an aircraft installation.

In every automated environment, not only flight controls and systems integration are tested, but the platform can also be connected to the full authority digital engine control and aircraft electrical system, which have their own dedicated test facilities. The Iron Bird allows pilots to be part of the tests through an integrated aerodynamic model and visual system.

Legacy 600/650

The Legacy 600 is powered by two FADEC controlled, Rolls-Royce AE3007A1E engines of 7953 lbs thrust. A typical flight profile ,with eight passengers ,would feature a take off distance of 1692m, a climb to FL390 (maximum ceiling 41000 feet) giving a 3250 nautical miles range at Mach 0,74 and a landing distance of 713m.MTOW is 22500 kilograms.

Normal approach is at a three degrees glide slope, but both Legacy family models are certificated for steep approaches of up to 5,5 degrees. One of the main airports that require a steep approach is London CityAirport, UK.

Authorization was granted following certification of the Legacy’s steep approach capability and the addition of the First Principles software. This software was fully developed in-house and helps the pilot calculate the aircrafts takeoff weight more accurately. Current Legacy owners may implement a service bulletin to have this same capability.

The aircraft has a large baggage compartment, which is easily accessed during flight. The jet has a cruising speed of Mach 0,80 .Its range of 3250 nautical miles with eight passengers, or 3 400 nautical miles with four passengers ,both with NBAA IFR fuel reserves.

The 650 version offers a range of 3900 nautical miles with four passengers and up to 3500 nautical miles with eight passengers. It is powered by Rolls-Royce AE3007A2 engines of 9020 lbs thrust.

Legacy Shuttle

With a balanced field length of 1405 metres, the AE3007A1/3 engines of 7057 lb thrust each, enables the Legacy Shuttle to operate out of smaller airports. Climb can be direct to a cruising altitude of 37000 feet.

At altitude, the Legacy Shuttle can cruise up to 1910 nautical miles with 16 passengers. Production has now been discontinued.

Lineage 1000

The Lineage 1000 is an ultra-large business jet based on the Embraer 190 commercial jet. Powered by two, GE CF34-10E7-B engines of lbs thrust each; it has accommodation for up to 19 passengers.

According to Embraer, the lineage 1000 offers flexibility of interior design, with the possibility of up to three lavatories and even a stand-up shower. A walk-in-luggage are, accessible in flight, complements the baggage compartment.

It has a take off field length of 1869 metres and range of 4400 nautical miles with eight passengers .Maximum cruise is Mach 0,82with a ceiling of 41000 feet. Certification has confirmed the Lineage 1000s maximum takeoff weight of 54500 kilograms, and authorized the jet to operate under Extended Operations Rules (ETOPS 120).

A large pressurized aft baggage area, which is conveniently accessible during flight, is more than twice the size of baggage compartments on competitive jets.

The integrated Honeywell Primus Epic avionics suite comes with five liquid crystal display (LCD) multifunction control screens, cursor control device, auto throttle, weather radar with turbulence detection and fly-by wire.

Embraers Lineage 1000 executive jet demonstrator made history last September by completing the longest distance ever flown by an Embraer aircraft. In its first non-stop flight from Mumbai, in India, to London’s Luton Airport, in UK, the Lineage 1000 covered a ground distance of 4015 nautical miles in nine hours and 15 minutes .This distance is equivalent to 4400 nautical miles with no headwind.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

The G150 is seen as Gulfstream’s first true mid-size aircraft, which can fly the 2950 nautical miles from New York to Los Angeles in five hours.,44 minutes ,with 2 crew and four passengers .Up to eight passengers cabin be accommodated if required.

It has two Honeywell TFE 731-40AR-200G engines rated at 4420 lb each.
